Playing with Waveguides
My science teacher used to tell us that we should never believe what the books say. The first time he said it we all looked at each other and wondered what he meant with his statement. He was clearly amused with our reaction and so he proceeded to explain what he was driving at. He said books were made to inform and guide students about what they should learn. But he said claims should be backed up by hard proof and that’s why we should experiment to see if what the book said is true. Needless to say, he asked us to find something in our textbook that we can experiment on.
I decided to play with waveguides and so I began to look for stores to get waveguide components. It wasn’t really easy to look for shops with people who are willing to help a teenager on his experiment.
I almost gave up on the project but good thing I found rectangular waveguide components on the internet. This site not only sells waveguides but is clearly an expert on the subject. I emailed them what I intended to do and they promptly gave me a list of what I should buy. Talk about good service.
