Limited Budget Equipment Upgrades
Top management has been asking me to do some upgrades with the systems that we have been using. It was actually time for one because most of our equipments are about 3 years old already. The concern however is the budget for it was affected by the economic crunch. For sure, I would not be able to buy brand new equipment with the budget that was given to me.
I asked the help of my team to give ideas or to search for alternatives so that we would be able to do the requested upgrade. One of them suggested looking at buying Used HP Servers.
I was agreeable to that as long as they could find Proliant Servers that are compatible to our existing equipment and system. He assured us they would be. So I told him to coordinate with the purchasing department for the procurement of the items.
I was surprised that the equipment that we ordered were delivered a week after and my team was able to finish the upgrades and quality testing in less than a month. This satisfied the top management very much. And the best thing about it was we were able to limit the expenses.
