Things that Really Matter
World Current Events are seen by many teenagers as boring. They prefer to watch MTV or Lifestyle Channel instead. But not me. I don’t care if I am going against the flow nor do in care if I am not perceived as a cool person. Those are just impressions and opinions. They don’t define. I care more about the bigger picture. I care more about what is really happening beyond that glitters and glamour of the so called “modern life”. I care more about the things that really matter.
Like for example, last night, I have read about this civil war occurring in Thailand. I was really affected. My family use to go there, but not anymore. I have always loved the place and the food and the people. I can’t determine exactly what went wrong in that very beautiful country. Is it the government? Or the persons running it? Or is it the people, who seem to be always asking for more? Or maybe their history or culture or ways of life? Maybe, no one will ever know the answer. However, the good about reading current events and history is that, the younger generation will be able to appreciate more what they have. Also, they will be able to avoid repeating the same mistakes over again.
