Our Discount Office Supplies Rep Was Fired
The guy who used to be in charge of our office supply account was apparently fired from the discount office supplies company. I needed to know that he was not let go because of stealing or anything else but I did not want to call and ask anyone from the office supply store.
I decided to have one of my secretary’s call and ask for a reference for the guy, telling them that he was applying for a job with our firm and we just needed to know what his work history was. The lady on the other line only told my secretary that he had worked for them for a very long time and just recently had started to show up to work late. They gave him numerous warnings, but it continued and they had to let him go.
I was so happy to find out that he had not been stealing from the office supply store or anything like that. I wonder why he started to show up late, after having such a good track record with the discount office supplies company for so long. I just hope that he finds another job; I know that he has three young children and needs the money.
