When I typed special care dentistry into the search engine, it came up with so many listings in my area, that I knew something was wrong. I had been to at least four of the offices listed and some of them only specialized in orthodontics. I needed a dentist who offered not only special care dentistry but the knowhow of how to deal with a wheelchair bound person.

I think that the first two dentist offices that I tried, that looked at me like I was crazy, had never heard of the new device that allows patients to be tilted back while staying in their own wheelchair. I knew that my father was getting way to heavy to be lifted into a dentists exam chair, no matter how many people we had to help.

I believe that the tenth special care dentistry listing was the one that solved all of my problems concerning my dad and the dentist chair. They had recently installed the tilting wheelchair device and were very happy to have my father as a new patient. I have never seen my father so relaxed when it came time to go to the dentist for a checkup. I am so glad that I took the time to find him the right dentist that is able to take care of him the way he deserves to be taken care of.
