Some Reasons Why Mobile Advertising Does Not Work

Many people think that simply driving a car up and down the road will garner attention. While that is true to some extent, you also need to realize people do not spend all day looking out the window to read your mobile billboards. As a result, you may find that your mobile billboard advertising is less successful than you thought it would be.

Today, there are numerous reasons why mobile advertising campaigns fail. Among other things, you will need to consider the time of day that the vehicle is in an area. While it may seem obvious that few people will see your advertisements in the middle of the night, people also choose other unlikely times. As an example, if you are driving up and down a residential neighborhood during work hours, your potential customers may not even be home.

In many instances, you will also lose money and exposure time while the vehicle is in areas where people are too busy paying attention to other things. As an example, if your mobile outdoor advertising campaign winds up on the thruway during rush hour, it will not be effective at all. Consider that the drivers around you will probably be too busy flooring the gas to get past you while they chat on their cell phones.  Even though there are many people around, they are simply not in a position to tune in to your message.

For the most part, mobile advertising fails because it is difficult to reach a target audience that is ready and willing to act on your message. While this can be an effective type of marketing, you will also have to plan carefully. When in doubt, use your own life as a reference, and think about when and where you are most likely to look at, and respond to mobile billboards.
